Getting Closer!

It doesn’t look like much, but we are getting there! The “before” pic is some framed-out walls and some sheetrock and spackle. The other two pics are where are at now, with painted walls, lights, a painted ceiling, and HVAC. The work on our new location in Belmar is moving along and we are getting more excited by the day. The next step is laying the flooring in the reception area, mats, heavy bags, and mirrors.

As a reminder, there will be no classes on Saturday, June 18th due to a Women’s Club event. we will continue classes in the Women’s Club on June 20th, 25th, 27th, and start classes in Belmar on Wednesday, July 6th.

Become a Taekwondo Instructor!

You might be thinking, “I could never become an instructor because….

– I don’t remember all of my forms”

– I’m not in as good of shape as I used to be”

– I haven’t trained in awhile”

That’s OK!

Our Level 1 Instructor Training Course is designed to get you up to speed physically and curriculum-wise. It is open to our current Black Belts and former Black Belts. If you haven’t trained with us lately, it is a great way to get back into training again while helping our newest students learn the same great lessons you learned. And you will love our new training facility!

This program has been designed by Ms. Kastner and will be taught by Mr. Stuart on Saturday mornings from 10:00-10:45 starting on July 9th and ending on August 27th. In addition, you will pick one class/week to assist so you can apply the lessons you learned on Saturday mornings.

The cost is $199 which includes the 8 classes, 8 assisting classes, and an Instructor Training uniform upon successful completion of the course. Just click on the pic above to get registered!

We will be in need of new instructors this Fall and will be hiring from those Black Belts who have completed this course. Those who are too young to work will still gain the distinction of being a Level 1 Instructor, wear the Instructor uniform, and can volunteer to help with classes. Don’t miss out. We would love to have you join us!

Our first testing at our Belmar location will be held on Saturday, September 17th (tentatively 9am). The students who will be eligible for that testing will be:

Gregory Tchilinguirian – testing for Brown Belt

Lydia Perino – testing for 1st Degree Probationary Black Belt

Michael Moretti – testing for Black Belt Candidate

Gweneth Tchilinguirian – testing for 1st Degree Decided Black Belt

Lila Jasaitis – testing for 1st Degree Decided Black Belt

Ella Lawrence – testing for 1st Degree Decided Black Belt

David Mellett – testing for 1st Degree Decided Black Belt

Willem van der Net – testing for 1st Degree Senior Black Belt

Billy Lewis – testing for 3rd Degree Decided Black Belt

Robert Stuart – testing for 3rd Degree Senior Black Belt

Taekwondo testing eligibility is based on time in rank, attendance, stripes, and board breaking (for Blue Belts and above). For example, Yellow – Purple Belt students must be at each rank for at least 3 months, attend at least 22 classes, earn 5 stripes on their belt, and pass pre-testing.
